We have decided to streamline our quarter turns fastener lineup to achieve scale economies by integrating the variety of part numbers and materials. This allows us to maintain the variation required by customers, while also providing cost advantages to those who require more corrosion-resistant stainless steel products.
There will be briefly 2 types of changes:

INTEGRATION OF ALL-METAL TYTPE 

• All-metal types including steel parts will be integrated or changed to stainless steel types. As a result, some part numbers will be changed or discontinued.
• The discontinuation will be effective on February 2025. However, they will be available as long as they are in stock and can be ordered.

MATERIAL UPGRADE TO PLASTIC KNOB TYPES AND SOME FASTENERS

This customer develops control devices for automobiles worldwide and they use Spanclamps Quarter Turn Fasteners on assembly fixtures for motor actuators.

In the process of assembling the bracket to the actuator, they use four types of dedicated fixtures. The operator needs to change the fixtures every time the actuator to be assembled changes. They used to clamp the fixtures with wing screws, but it was not only troublesome to turn the screws many times, but also time-consuming to find the removed screws when they were lost.

A manufacture of intercom and fire alarm for home use Spanclamps Quarter Turn SCQT on injection molding line for the resin products. They cut the resin burr on back of the post-molded products by a nipper.

Setups for changing the nipper and its position come out every mold change because the position of the burr is different product by product. In the previous line, they used the general-purpose nipper units for all products and it took more than 15 minutes to loosen screws, change nippers and adjust positions. They needed to change the mold more than 50 times per month for some machines.

A manufacturer of meat processing equipment, uses the Retractacle Quarter Turn to change the hands on their brand-new "Scorpion" an automated meat packaging machine. Scorpion automatically puts aligned slices of meat on food trays. The hands that carry the meat slices to the tray have to be changed at least once a day, when the shape of the meat slice is changed or for cleaning and maintenance.

I have a project with company who are specialized on produce medical implants for visceral and spinal surgery.
Their products are made by thermo molding. They're looking to save changeover time with the heavy-duty retractable fasteners.

TECHNICAL ADVISES

it's quite costly, but it can be always done.

here are some processes that increase the cost:

- Electro polishing for reducing friction and particles
- Kolsterising for preventing galling
- Cleanroom packaging for minimizing contamination
- Rerolled thread Ag or Au plating on request

In the semiconductor industry, printing and etching processes require cleanness and lubricant is not acceptable but other processes done in normal air like testing and handling can accept our fasteners.

In the food industry, we are aiming to applications under the pass-line that do not touch the food directly.

We have made custom fasteners with a special vacuum lubricant for some semiconductor customers, but the quantity should be big.  (project investment of 25000-50000 euro)

In the machining process, as the tool cuts off the unnecessary material from the workpiece, a cutting force will be generated on the workpiece. To resist the cutting force and allow the cutting process to be completed, the workpiece must be firmly clamped on the machine tool. The device that positions and clamps the workpiece is called a fixture. The device that holds and guides the cutting tool is called jigs.
